Blood on the Grass is part of the main story campaign, Jin's Journey, during Act 1: Rescue Lord Shimura.
Synopsis[]
The mercenary Straw Hat Ronin may be rough around the edges, but I could use their blades to help rescue Lord Shimura. I should look them up and see if they're open to some work. Apparently they've been seen hunting Mongols in the Kishi Grasslands.
― Jin
Jin goes to Kishi Grasslands in search of the Straw Hat Ronin. He discovers a burning wagon and a trail of Mongol bodies. He follows the trail, nearly gets ambushed by a Mongol, and runs into his childhood friend, Ryuzo. Jin explains that Lord Shimura is still alive and that he needs all the help he can get to save his uncle. Ryuzo is hesitant because the Straw Hats are starving and do not want to risk their cause just to save one man. Jin offers that Lord Shimura will pay them back, just before he and Ryuzo are ambushed by more Mongols.
Ryuzo is impressed by Jin's fighting abilities but is still hesitant to help rescue Lord Shimura. They travel to the Straw Hat camp stopping to investigate a fallen wagon along the way. A peasant man tells them that the Mongols (who are camped at Fort Ohira) stole his horse and food. Jin suggests that the Mongols have stored food at the fort and he can help the Straw Hats invade. Ryuzo is skeptical about this but eventually agrees to attack the fort. Ryuzo says that his men will scope out the fort first and to meet him and his men at Takuzudama Cemetery.
