Daikoku was an archer of Yarikawa. During the Mongol invasion, Daikoku rejected Ujimasa Yarikawa's orders to stay within Yarikawa's walls and led a group of archers to harass the Mongols in the countryside. After Jin Sakai helped rescue some of his archers made captive by the Mongols, Daikoku joined him and helped in the defense of Yarikawa.
