In Kushi, I met a man who claimed he killed the other bandits around him. When I questioned him, he said they killed his family. He sounded sincere. I will help him get his vengeance.
― Jin Sakai
History[]
Gomyo was a peasant who, having become deeply indebted to a group of bandits, was forced to join them to support his family and pay off his debts. After several years of service and nearing the end of his payments, Gomyo returned home one day to find that his family was killed by the bandits. This drove him into a vengeful rage, and he swore he would kill the bandits.
Mentioned briefly, Gomyo knew Yuna and Taka when they were all children in Yarikawa. According to Yuna, Gomyo would frequently start fights with her, but she would often be the one to end them.
Game Events[]
In one of his journeys, Jin Sakai found Gomyo among the remains of a band of bandits. Jin thought that he was a wounded bandit that had attempted to rob a caravan, and Jin was going to end his suffering, but Gomyo told him his whole story.
Jin helped Gomyo to kill the bandits at their camp, but Gomyo was mortally wounded. Before he died, he asked Jin to take his body someplace away from the other bodies of the bandit filth. Jin obliged, and built him a funeral pyre on a boulder next to the beach.
