The story says the armor can turn even a simple farmer into a warrior.
― In-game Description
Gosaku's Armor is an armor set unlocked by completing the Mythic Tale, The Unbreakable Gosaku. Its bonuses focus on durability and staggering enemies.
The armor was once worn by a farmer named Gosaku who claimed it from the body of a dead samurai, in order to protect his village from the Red Hand bandits of Akashima. Despite his lack of skill, the armor protected Gosaku against the bandit's attacks, allowing him to drive them out of the village; from that day on, he was known as the protector of the farms of Tsushima.
When Gosaku passed away, his armor was locked away by the six farming families of Tsushima, where they awaited another worthy warrior who would defend their farms. After Jin Sakai and his allies reclaimed Castle Kaneda and rescued Lord Shimura, the Mongols attempted to weaken the opposing factions of Tsushima by invading the farms and taking control of their food supplies. Jin would later return to the Izuhara region and free the farms of their Mongol oppressors, and in their gratitude the farmers would give him the keys required to access Gosaku's armor.
Location[]
In order to acquire the Armor, Jin must first gain access to the Toyotama region in Act 2 and activate the tale: The Unbreakable Gosaku. From there, Jin must liberate the following locations:
- Aoi Village in Izuhara
- Iijima Farmstead in Toyotama
- Kuta Farmstead in Izuhara
- Koshimizu Farmstead in Toyotama
- Ohama Fishing Village in Izuhara
- Yagata Farmstead in Izuhara
It should be noted that as long as Jin gains access to Act II, he will be able to collect the keys prior to activating the Mythic tale.
From there, Jin would be required to find a hill in the Old Togo Rice Fields, where he will be required to use all six keys to unlock a stone door which exposes a path that leads up the mountain where the Armor is located.

Trivia[]
- This armor and the Ocean's Guardian dye are one of the three required items to obtain the Cooper Clan Cosplayer PSN trophy.
- The other two required items are the Crooked Kama headband and the Sly Tanuki sword kit.
- The trophy is a reference to Sly Cooper, a video game series also by Sucker Punch Productions.
- This armor appears to be ō-yoroi style armor, as evidenced by the boxy design. This kind of armor was one of the earlier forms of armor in feudal Japan, appearing in the tenth century - a few centuries before the game takes place. This armor was heavy and restricted mobility, and was later replaced by the dō-maru. So, this armor is actually historically accurate.
- The armor is different when Jin acquires it compared to when Gosaku wore it, as in the cinematics of his tale, Gosaku is seen wearing the level 3 version when he faces off against the Red Hand bandits.
- The armor is possibly based on the Gusoku Armor, a suit of armor from the Kishu Tokugawa Family of Kii Province.
