Hammer and Forge is part of the main story campaign, Jin's Journey, during Act 1: Rescue Lord Shimura.
Synopsis[]
Yuna and her brother, Taka, have gone to Komatsu Forge ahead of Jin Sakai, but when Jin arrives, he sees Yuna in combat with Mongol soldiers, while Taka and the other villagers have taken refuge inside the forge. When the Mongols have been defeated, Jin asks for Taka's help in creating a tool that can be used to scale the walls of Castle Kaneda. Taka insists that he needs his assistant, Yukio, to help him complete this task. Of course, Yukio is being held by Mongol soldiers and Jin needs to quietly rescue the assistant so the Mongols don't kill any hostages. After Yukio is rescued, Jin returns to Taka to discover that Yuna is trying to save even more hostages from the Mongols across the river. Jin goes to help his new ally, who now spins the tale of the Ghost, much to the samurai's chagrin.

Journal Entry[]
Yuna's brother is finally safe, but we had to split up after our escape. I should make sure they reached the town of Komatsu Forge. If Take's had time to recover, he may be able to make me a tool to climb the walls of my uncle's prison at Castle Kaneda.
