Kanetomo is a ronin and member of the Straw Hats. He is one of the five who joined with Kojiro and were slain in duels with Jin Sakai.
Biography[]
Kanetomo is a fierce and particularly sadistic Straw Hat Ronin. Along with four others, he joined infamous Straw Hat killer Kojiro, swearing an oath to kill Jin Sakai. He waits for Jin in the Kubara region, but grows increasingly impatient. When Jin finds him, he discovers that Kanetomo has slaughtered several peasants to pass the time. Jin is angered and disgusted at the murderous Straw Hat, who expresses excitement for their duel. He and Jin then unsheathe their blades and engage in a sword fight. During their duel, Kanetomo taunts Jin that the peasants would still be alive if Jin had gotten here sooner, to which Jin replies he is here now. The duel ends with Jin's victory and Kanetomo's death, with Jin declaring that the latter will never kill again.
