Sword Kits are cosmetic variants for Jin Sakai's Sakai Katana and Sakai Tanto. The sword kits only serves as aesthetic addition, with no gameplay bonuses.

There are 33 sword kits, with one exclusive to the non-standard editions. Sword kits are obtained by completing Mythic Tales, collecting it from a Pillar of Honor, or purchasing one from Merchant for 15 Flowers.

  1. Izanami is the goddess of creation and death in Shinto folklore.
  2. Bishamon is the Shinto God of fortunate Warriors & Guards and punisher of criminals.
  3. Hachiman is the Shinto God of War and the divine protector of the Japanese people.
  4. Fuujin is the god of wind in Shinto folklore. He is also known as Kami-no-Kaze, which is where the word kamikaze originate from. The typhoon that destroyed the Mongol fleet during the 2nd Mongol Invasion in 1281 was called a "kamikaze," and the pilots of WWII were given the same moniker for their method of suicide attacks.
  5. Genbu is the yokai (spirit) of a black turtle or tortoise in Shinto folklore.
  6. Hijiki is a type of sea vegetable that's golden-brown in color.
  7. Mamushi is the common name for a species of Japanese Pit Viper (Gloydius blomhoffii).
  8. Tanuki is a raccoon-dog spirit that possesses humans and causes them to become ravenous with gluttony. This kit is a reference to the Sly Cooper video game series, and the quote is a direct reference to a character's (Murray) description of his ability.
  9. Oni is an ogre or troll in Shinto folklore.
  10. Yasha are soldiers in Bishamon's army. Their leader, General Kubira, is believed to be a manifestation of Konpira, a god of Fishing, Seafaring & Farming.
  11. Yuki Onna (The Snow Woman) has many legends attached to her name: from a dreaded snow vampire of the mountains, to a loving bride and mother, she has played many roles over the centuries and has worn many costumes.
