The Family Man (Masako Tale 6 of 9) is a side tale during Act 2: Retake Castle Shimura.
Synopsis[]
Jin approaches Lady Masako arguing with a monk named Junshin. Masako is tracking down Kajiwara, a former servant of Clan Adachi, for recruiting the men who killed her family. Junshin is aware of Kajiwara's location but is protecting him from Masako for fear for his life. Junshin says Masako is blinded by rage, and Kajiwara is a humble fisherman who would never act against Clan Adachi. Jin convinces Junshin he just needs to talk to Kajiwara, so Junshin gives up his location.
Jin follows Masako on the road to Kajiwara's hut on the beach. During the journey, Masako explains Kajiwara beat his family while in service to her, and so she immediately dismissed him. When they arrive, the Mongols have already found the fishing hut. Jin and Lady Masako kill the Mongols, then investigate the house. They find Kajiwara is wealthier than he should be, and also evidence Kajiwara murdered his wife and daughter. They track footprints to Kajiwara, and he admits to the conspiracy. Lady Masako executes Kajiwara, but she and Jin still don't know who the conspirator was.
