The Fate of Tsushima is part of the main story campaign, Jin's Journey, during Act 2: Retake Castle Shimura.

"You are about to start a long Tale. Are you sure you want to proceed?”

This quest serves as a partial "point of no return,” in that you will not be able to fast travel back to either Toyotama or Izuhara until you have completed Wolves at the Gates. If there are any other quests, upgrades or purchases you wish to complete, it is best to do so before speaking with Lord Oga. You will be able to return to all areas after completing From the Darkness and Honor and Ash.

Synopsis[]

Fighting back the grief of Taka's death, Jin Sakai and his friends must push past their tragedy to plan their next attack on Castle Shimura itself. With even more Mongol forces and siege weapons, like the hwacha, challenges present themselves at every stage. It's a good thing that Goro's ship got past the Mongol ships to deliver Lord Shimura's message to the shogunate, as Lord Oga and his warriors have arrived to join the fight against the invaders.

Objectives[]

  • Travel to Lord Shimura's Camp
    • You'll find Lord Oga just outside the gate where you'll be given the prompt about the long tale warning, but you'll want to do a few other things first, so press circle to exit the conversation.
  • Optional: Speak with your Allies (0/4) – You'll have the chance to speak with Kenji, Lady Masako, Norio and Sensei Ishikawa
  • Speak with Yuna
  • Return to and speak with Lord Oga (confirm the long tale)
  • Travel with Lord Oga to meet your uncle at the watchtower
  • Speak with Lord Shimura
  • Defeat the Mongol forces
  • Scout ahead of your army
    • Climb onto the bridge via the ladder on the left and survey the next area for a plan of attack
  • Defeat the Hwacha operators
    • Once again, avoid the white circles on the ground as you make your way towards the tower to avoid hwacha projectiles
    • If you stick to the left side and make a "beeline" to the tower, you can even avoid a majority of melee interactions with other enemies and let your allies attack them instead
    • Climb the tower, kill the 2 hwacha operators, then target the hwacha at any remaining enemies hindering your allies' progression
  • Rejoin your allies
  • Drive the enemy across the bridge then climb the Gatehouse ladder
  • Select your fire arrows, aim and fire at the cart of explosives
  • Sit back and watch the cutscene.

Journal Entry[]

The Straws Hats are routed, but at a terrible cost. Ryuzo escaped and worse… Taka lost his life. I won't let this go unpunished. Lord Shimura is rallying for battle at his staging camp. Before we fight, I need to check on Yuna.
