The Headman (Masako Tale 2 of 9) is a side tale during Act 1: Rescue Lord Shimura.

Synopsis[]

Clan Adachi was betrayed by a conspiracy. Lady Masako lives only to destroy those responsible for her family's slaughter. Anyone who dares prey on a samurai family must be brought to justice, so I have agreed to join her hunt.
― Jin

With the list of conspirators in hand, Lady Masako and Jin Sakai are ready to start tracking down the people responsible for the brutal murders of her children and grandchildren. Their first suspect is Sadao, a former member of Clan Adachi and the headman of Kuta Farmstead, appointed by Lady Masako's husband. He fled the farmstead the night of the murders, most likely after hearing of Lady Masako's survival. They start their search by following Hachi, Sadao's brother, who's in league with some bandits. Upon arrival at Sadao's home, they encounter Sadao's wife, Hina, and interrogate her about her husband's whereabouts, but decide it would be safer to bring Hina back to the Adachi Estate for questioning.
