The Husband (Masako Tale 3 of 9) is a side tale during Act 1: Rescue Lord Shimura.
Synopsis[]
Lady Masako and I are on the hunt for Headman Sadao, one of the conspirators behind her family's murder. Sadao's wife claims to have no knowledge of where he's hiding. Masako's patience grows thin, but I have faith the woman will lead us to her husband.
― Jin
Back at the Adachi Estate, Lady Masako is not having any luck speaking with Hina about her husband, Sadao, so Jin Sakai goes inside in an attempt to console Hina by saying that he promises to try to save Sadao's life. Hina offers Jin the information he needs, so he and Lady Masako take a short break outside before hearing Hina screaming from inside the house. They arrive too late and begin to track Hina's killers. Jin becomes a little upset with Lady Masako, because she used Hina as bait in the hopes that the traitors would follow them back to the estate. They track the footprints back to Mongols, who have captured Hachi on the road. Hachi claims he was trying to free Hina, but her screaming caused him to murder his brother's wife instead. Hachi refuses to betray his brother and dies from the wounds inflicted by the Mongols. Jin finds a map of supply routes on his body that will help them find Sadao – he just needs to speak with a monk at the Golden Temple to get additional information.
