The Tale of Sensei Ishikawa is part of the main story campaign, Jin's Journey, during Act 1: Rescue Lord Shimura in Ghost of Tsushima. It is the first of nine (9) Ishikawa Tales.

Synopsis[]

Jin sets out to search for Sensei Ishikawa at his dojo to speak with him about the battle at Komoda Beach. Jin introduces himself as Lord Shimura's nephew and asks why the sensei wasn't present at the battle. Sensei Ishikawa claims he was attacked by bandits before he could leave for the battle.

Jin and the sensei search for his prodigal archery student, Tomoe. They find a makeshift camp with Tomoe's belongings and blood spatter. The sensei fears that Tomoe has been kidnapped by the Mongols and is being held at Fort Nakayama nearby. Sensei Ishikawa gives Jin a Half Bow and arrows with a tutorial to shoot the nearby lamps. The two make their way to the fort where Jin suggests entering the fort head-on, but the sensei suggests otherwise and opts to survey the camp and infiltrate quietly.

After they enter the camp and disperse the remaining forces, Jin investigates the camp and finds that Tomoe had been teaching the Mongols the sensei's technique: the Way of the Bow. Sensei Ishikawa admits he had pushed Tomoe too hard during her training and it was not bandits that had attacked him initially, but Tomoe herself. Realizing that Tomoe is now working with the Mongols, Jin and Ishikawa vow to track her down.

Journal Entries[]

Sensei Ishikawa never joined our battle against the Mongols at Komoda Beach. If he's still alive, I could use his skill with a bow to help rescue Lord Shimura. But first, I have to find the sensei.
― Jin, before starting the Tale

Sensei Ishikawa's student, Tomoe, is working with the Mongols and teaching them his Way of the Bow. We need to stop her before the Mongol archers become far more dangerous adversaries.
