The Value of Sake is a side tale that becomes available during Act 1: Rescue Lord Shimura in Ghost of Tsushima.
Synopsis[]
As Jin Sakai approaches the Kii Sake Brewery, he overhears its owner, Kii, asking for a count of the barrels of sake, and notes that the ten they have won't be enough for the Mongols. Jin asks Kii if everything is all right, to which Kii asks if Jin would like a cup of tea. Confused, Jin remarks they are in the famous Kii Sake Brewery of Azamo; Kii asks Jin to follow her to a nearby house.
Once inside, Kii apologizes to Jin about not being able to speak freely outside, as the Mongols might've overheard them. She explains that the Mongols have been drinking lots of sake from the brewery. Jin admits that he can't fault their taste, as Kii Sake is the pride of Tsushima. Kii remarks that the Mongols are coming back soon, to which Jin tells Kii to take her workers and hide while he sets up an ambush.
At 5:00 PM, the Mongols arrive to get their sake. Jin fights and defeats the first wave of Mongols before a second wave arrives. After dispatching of all the Mongols, Kii and her workers come out of hiding. Jin tells Kii that the Mongols will return if their men don't come back. Kii asks Jin if he can stay and protect them, with Jin's reward being free, unlimited sake. Knowing that this isn't feasible, Jin tells Kii that she'll have to relocate, and that they should try the Golden Temple. Kii thanks Jin for his help. The Tale ends with Jin drinking sake around a campfire.
