Tomotsugu is one of the five Straw Hat ronin who follow Kojiro and have sworn an oath to kill Jin Sakai.
Biography[]
Tomotsugu is a fierce and talented Straw Hat Ronin. Along with four others, he joined infamous Straw Hat killer Kojiro, swearing an oath to kill Jin Sakai. On a beach near Urashima's Village, Tomotsugu fishes while waiting for Jin to arrive for their duel. When Jin arrives, he finds that, unlike Kojiro's other followers, who are bloodthirsty at best and psychopaths at worst, Tomotsugu is actually a rather polite, humble, and honorable man, intent only on upholding his oath to fight Jin. Jin tries to talk Tomotsugu out of the duel, but the Ronin declines, stating that he had already swore an oath to fight him. As the ensuing duel progresses, Jin gives Tomotgsugu one more chance to surrender; though he thanks the Samurai for the offer, he still refuses. Jin then ends the duel by killing Tomotsugu, expressing his hopes that he will find true honor in his next life.
