Yama is a female warrior encountered near Kashine Hills in the Izuhara region of Tsushima.
When Jin Sakai approaches, Yama is seen standing beside a peasant woman. The peasant calls out to Jin about Yama knowing a way to bypass the Mongol blockade off the island. When Jin investigates, Yama leads him to the edge of a nearby cliff and points to the distant coast where she claims her boat and the route she plans to take is. After Jin surveys the landscape, he discovers there is no boat to be found.
When Jin walks back, he finds Yama in the middle of killing the peasant woman with her sword, revealing her claim about escaping off the island to be a lie. Jin calls Yama a liar and a coward, engaging her in a fight that ends with her death. Jin then observes afterward that Yama had committed an awful act of murdering the innocent.

- The encounter with Yama is one of the only times in the game where the player fights against a named enemy NPC outside of any side quests, Mythic Tales, or the main story.
