Yasumasa is a ronin and member of the Straw Hats. He is one of the five who joined with Kojiro, swearing an oath to kill Jin Sakai.

Biography[]

Yasumasa is a fierce and talented Straw Hat Ronin. Along with four others, he joined infamous Straw Hat killer Kojiro, swearing an oath to kill Jin Sakai. In the Old Kanazawa Marsh, Yasumasa takes a boy hostage in order to lure out Jin and challenge him to a duel. When Jin does arrive, Yasumasa sends the boy away. Jin denounces him and the other Straw Hats as cowardly traitors and declares that they all deserve death. Yasumasa counters that samurai are hypocrites that steal glory from true warriors such as himself and unseathes his blade, swearing to prove it. After a tense standoff, the two engage in a duel. As Jin begins to gain an advantage, Yasumasa attempts to reel in confidence by saying that Jin spent his entire life in a castle, but JIn points out he is out of breath. Their duel ends soon after, with Jin emerging victorious and killing Yasumasa.
